Nepal Business Gabfest 2017 concludes

The Nepal Business Gabfest 2017 concluded on Friday at Thames International College with the participation of more than 600 students from 10 colleges.

Gabfest 2017 was organized by AMS School of Business and Technology in partnership with The Management Club and IT Club of the College from June 29 to 30.

“We organized Nepal Business Gabfest 2017 as a unique opportunity for college students to learn about the current issues, trends, challenges in the Nepali business environment,” Chairperson of Thames International College Rajendra Man Sherchan said.

The festival had kicked off with a session titled ‘Value Addition in Business through IT’, where students interacted with a panel that included Kiran Timsina of Urban Girl, Jenish Pahari of Team Quest, Amod Niroula of ACT 360 and Aayushi KC of Khaalisisi.

Bijay Limbu Senihang and Sachin Thakuri of Rigo Technology spoke about IT and Consumer Security while former Minister for Industry Nabindra Raj Joshi talked about Managing State Owned Enterprises in the later session.

On the second day, speaking on ‘Embracing the Opportunities and Challenges of ICT Driven Business’, students interacted with a panel that included Kedar Acharya from Nepal Rastra Bank, Durga Prasad Bhusal from Department of Industry, Asgar Ali of F1 Soft  and Sixit Bhatta of Tootle.

The two-day event also featured various parallel sessions, workshops and fun games for the participating students.

Sadikshya Kandel, one of the participants from People’s Campus, said that she found the stories of participating entrepreneurs inspiring and such fests would help bring together young, aspiring entrepreneurs.
