Nepal Boxing Association unveils its calendar

KATHMANDU, May 30: Nepal Boxing Association (NBA), on Tuesday, has unveiled its calendar for the year 2017 which includes organizing tournaments to participating in the international events.

Organizing a press conference in the capital, NBA's President Ram Awale informed that Nepali boxing governing body will host Ganeshman Singh Open Nation Boxing Competition in June-July while it will organize National Youth Boxing Championship, slated for September-October this year.

Awale further informed to Republica that the training courses including School Boxing Training course and Youth Boxing Training course will be conducted during mid June.

Similarly, other National Boxing Open Championships will also be held during October-November in Budanilkantha and during March-April in Jhapa.

On the same occasion, NBA also stated that the association is planning to establish its own academy within the year 2018. It also has included the training of coaches and referees in its calendar.

Likewise, NBA said that it will send Nepali boxers in three different international boxing competitions this year. As per its calendar, Nepali boxers will take part in Youth Boxing schedule for July 1 in Thailand, Asian Elite Boxing Championship scheduled for November in Vietnam and in Indo-Nepal Boxing Championship scheduled for September.

Last year, NBA had organized National Referee and Judge Refresher, Fourth National Open Women's and Men's Boxing competition and First Novice Boxing Championship Awale said. He further added that the association also participated in international events such as the AIBA ITO Course, AIBA Youth Championship, AIBA Congress, Thailand Boxing Championship and Asian Boxing Championship.
