KATHMANDU, Nov 7: Nepal Army has donated Rs 61.7 million to the government for the reconstruction of Dharahara which had collapsed in the devastating earthquake on 25 April, 2015.
Nepal Army Chief Rajendra Chhetri handed a check of Rs 61.7 million to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday.
Dahal said that the Preparations are underway for the reconstruction of the Dharahara. “We are in the stage of reconstruction after earthquake. All organs of the state should come together for the reconstruction. The effort of Nepal army is praiseworthy,” said Dahal.
The Prime Minister said that the government is doing the required homework for the reconstruction of Dharahara. Nepal Telecome has already said that it is ready to contribute for the reconstruction.
The erstwhile KP Oli government had refused to accept foreign aid for the reconstruction of Dharahara saying that it is an issue of national pride of the country. Oli had stated that money would be raised from the public for the reconstruction of Dharahara.
