Nepal and Myanmar set to face off for title of International Women's Football Championship

The final match of the ongoing International Women's Football Championship in Kathmandu is being played today. Home team Nepal and Myanmar are playing for the title.

KATHMANDU, Feb 26: The final match of the ongoing International Women's Football Championship in Kathmandu is being played today. Home team Nepal and Myanmar are playing for the title.


The match is taking place at 6:00 PM at the Dasarath Stadium. As it is a holiday of Maha Shivaratri, a large number of spectators are expected to attend the final.

Both teams reached the final without losing in the four-nation tournament.  Both teams have secured spots in the final by winning two matches each.


Nepal defeated Kyrgyzstan and Lebanon, each with a similar 1-0 margin, while Myanmar triumphed over Kyrgyzstan 5-0 and Lebanon 3 - 1


The Nepali team is playing in the final of a competition for the 13th time overall. However, they have failed to win in all of the previous 12 finals they have played so far.


In the 5 matches played between Nepal and Myanmar so far, Nepal has not won a single game. Myanmar has won 3 of those matches and 2 matches have ended in a draw.
