According to NeBA President Lama Tendi Sherpa, clubs like Gurukul and White House would feature foreign players in their teams at the championship. "We have introduced the provision of allowing foreign players in clubs for the first time. We hope it will increase the level of competition. Since it is the first time, we are expecting only few foreign players but we hope the number will increase in coming years," said Sherpa.
Former national team captain and coach of the girls´ team of White House, Sadish Pradhan, said the NeBA decision should be taken positively. "It is a positive move by NeBA. We can learn from foreign players but we should try to bring good players in the club," said Pradhan. His White House team also includes a player from Uganda.
The league-cum-knockout tournament will feature six teams each in men´s and women´s sections. Xavier International, Gurukul and White House are drawn in Pool A of men´s section while GoldenGate International, NASA International and Morgan International are in Pool B.
Likewise, Morgan, Prime and GoldenGate are in Pool A of women´s section while Pool B comprises Saipal Academy, Gurukul and White House.
