The government has already released Rs 1 billion from the fund to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) for relief and rescue operations in the flood-affected areas.
The fund received contributions from both within Nepal and abroad after the government appealed for financial support for relief and reconstruction efforts following the August 26 flood.
The substantial amount collected in the fund comes as authorities continue relief, rescue and recovery efforts in areas affected by the Bhotekoshi disaster.
