NEA steps up preparations to take action against poorly performing contractors

KATHMANDU, April 8: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has stepped up preparations to annul contracts with seven construction companies, which have been assigned to install transformers and stretch transmission lines in a number of locations of the Sudurpaschim Province.

KATHMANDU, April 8: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has stepped up preparations to annul contracts with seven construction companies, which have been assigned to install transformers and stretch transmission lines in a number of locations of the Sudurpaschim Province.

Issuing a public notice, the NEA has asked the contractors to furnish clarification on their physical presence within a week. Netra Nirman Sewa, Bhagwati Nirman  Sewa, Dhulikhel LB and AB JV, Bhagwati JV, Om Bir Bhadra Nirman Construction, Manakamana Nirman Sewa and MS Construction are among contractors grilled by the state-owned power utility.


According to the NEA, it has initiated the process to take action against these firms after they failed to accomplish the given tasks as per the agreements. These companies were given contracts to install transformers and construct related infrastructures in a number of locations including Adarsha, Sayal, Bogatan, Badikedar and Jorayal rural municipalities, among others.
