KATHMANDU, April 27: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has called on internet and cable service providers who have been using NEA’s structures, and have hired optical fibers, telephone/internet cables, to renew their agreements and clear their arrears by May 14.
Issuing a notice on Wednesday, NEA stated that most of the service-providers are using NEA’s structures without agreement or only partial agreement, and requested them to renew the agreement as per the rules. The authority has also requested the internet and cable service providers to pay their arrears within the deadline.
NEA has said that the lines of service providers can be cut any time without any agreement as per the rules. The authority has warned that the internet and cable TV service providers concerned will be responsible for the outcome if an agreement is not reached between the two sides.
