NEA announces power outage in areas under Chhetrapati and Thapathali feeder

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced a power outage in various areas of Kathmandu today to facilitate line maintenance and expansion work.

KATHMANDU, January 11: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced a power outage in various areas of Kathmandu today to facilitate line maintenance and expansion work.


According to the NEA's notice, the underground cable line in the Teku Bishnumati corridor will be connected to the transformer tower at Pushpalal Park, and overhead lines will be installed. This will cause power cuts in areas under the Chhtetrapati feeder, including Chhetrapati Chowk, Paknajol, Tahiti Chowk, and Jyatha, from 1 PM to 5 PM.

Similarly, areas under the Teku-Thapathali feeder, including Thapathali Chowk, Nepal Eye Hospital, Passport Department, World Trade Center, Dasharath Stadium, and Blue Cross Hospital, will also face power outages.


Under the Tripureshwor feeder, areas from Teku Substation to Pachali Bhairav, Nepal Federation of Commerce and Industry, and Teku Chowk up to Bhatbhateni Supermarket near Tripureshwor Chowk, Teku Banshimarg, and Sukumbasi settlement routes will experience power cuts.


Additionally, areas under the Thapathali feeder, including the eastern gate of the Maternity Hospital, Norvic Hospital, Thapathali Panchayani Marg, Kuriya Village, and the back area of the Inland Revenue Office, will also be affected from 1 PM to 5 PM.


The NEA stated that if the scheduled work is completed earlier than planned, the power supply will resume before the specified time. The authority apologized for any inconvenience caused to consumers due to the power cuts.
