KATHMANDU, Aug 21: The secretariat meeting of the Nepal Communist Party on Wednesday failed to take any decision, citing the lack of homework.

The secretariat meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, however, discussed the issues relating to various departments of the party, foreign committees, chair and secretary at the metropolis, and advisory committee, among others.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday again, said party Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha, adding that selection of politburo was yet to be finalized as part of the party unification. However, the meeting did not discuss the note of dissent registered by leader Madhav Kumar Nepal relating to the unification.

Spokesperson Shrestha added that the note of dissent registered by leader Nepal could be discussed separately. The party has planned to finalize the party unification activities before PM KP Oli leaves for Singapore for the treatment tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the big political parties held separate meetings at the call of PM Oli after the all-party meeting on Wednesday itself.

The discussion was held on the bills under consideration at the parliament and the recent political situation. The all-party meeting was attended by PM Oli, party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, General Secretary Bishnu Poudel, Spokesperson Shrestha, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, leaders Dr Minendra Rijal and Purna Bahadur Khadka.
