KATHMANDU, June 15: Nepal Communist Party’s lawmaker Ram Bir Manandhar has demanded the resignation of Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota.

Speaking at a program organized in the capital on Saturday, lawmaker Manandhar criticized Minister Baskota for his comment on the ongoing protest against the Guthi bill citing that the comment made by the minister has provoked the issue.

Stating that instead of addressing the demand of the public who are against the proposed Guthi bill, lawmaker Manandhar blamed Minister Baskota for provoking the public. He accused the minister for making the controversial comment that would divide the society and has defamed the Guthi culture.

He warned of mass protest in Kathmandu if the government would not withdraw the bill. He reiterated that the current government might toppled if it ignores the voice of public.
