KATHMANDU, Oct 17: A secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) on Wednesday issued directives to its subordinate committees to recommend candidates for the November by-elections.
The meeting held at prime minister’s official residence at Baluwatar directed the subordinate committees to recommend three names each from the district committees and province committees by October 24 for the by-elections to be held on November 30, according to NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

The NCP central committee will decide on the candidates to vie for the vacant posts in the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly polls while subordinate committees will decide the candidates for the posts lying vacant at the local levels.
The secretariat meeting also nominated Astalaxmi Shakya, Bhanubhakta Dhakal and Hari Adhikari as members in the party’s central organization department. Earlier, leader Bamdev Gautam was picked as the chief and Janardan Sharma as the deputy chief of the department.
