TANAHUN, Dec 18: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) Ram Chandra Paudel has said that the NC will not quit the government unless the National Assembly is formed.
Speaking at a program organized in his home town Tanahun to thank voters on Monday, Paudel argued the parliament will not take a full shape until the Upper House is formed. “Until the National Assembly is formed, the NC will remain in the government,” said Paudel.
Paudel further said, “The left alliance’s leaders’ statement that they will not take oath of office and secrecy from the provincial chiefs appointed by the NC government is not logical. It indicates that the left alliance is heading toward ‘totalitarianism’.
He further said that the President cannot halt the Ordinance on the formation of National Assembly.
The NC government had sent an Ordinance on the formation of National Assembly to the Office of the President for authentication two months ago.
