ROLPA, May 16: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate has been elected to the post of chairman of Rolpa's Gangadev Rural Municipality. Hari Bahadur Pun of the NC got 2,548 votes while his closest rival Roshan Kumar Wali of the CPN-UML got 2,499 votes.
Similarly, Amrita Kumari KC of the NC has also won the post of vice chairperson in Gangadev. While she got 2,909 votes, Nirmala Kumari Wali of UML got 2,442 votes. Nep Bahadur Dangi of Samajwadi Party secured the third position. He got 1,811 votes.
Out of the seven wards in Gangadev, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) have won in only one ward each. The Maoists, who had won chairmanship in ward 3, had won in the rural municipality with an overwhelming majority in the last election.
