NC wins Dhunibesi mayor, UML Khaniyabas chief

DHADING, May 17: Nepali Congress candidate Rana Bahadur Tamang has been elected as chief of Khaniyabas Rural Municipality.  He secured 1,646 votes. His closest rival Pradip Phyuba of  CPN-UML got 971 votes.

NC candidate Yomaya Tamang  has been elected as deputy chief with 1,665 votes while her immediate contender UML’s Sushma Tamang got 917 votes.

 UML candidate Bal Krishan Acharya has been elected as mayor of Dhunibesi Municipality. He got 6,848 votes.  His closest rival Maoist Center’s Dipak Lamichhane got 2,331 votes. 

Similarly, Niru Kharel of CPN-UML got elected as deputy mayor with 3,778 votes. Her immediate contender Maoist Center’s Sabitri Acharya got 2,340 votes.
