KATHMANDU, Nov 28: Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa has said that his party will put all the leaders of CPN-UML into their places after the party elects new leadership in the ongoing general convention at Chitwan.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the 14th district convention of the Nepali Congress Kathmandu District Working Committee on Sunday, Thapa said that the UML would be defeated by the Nepali Congress.
He said that the UML, which would get its new leaders after the 10th general convention, would move forward on the path of ending democracy by losing democracy. Stating that the UML has gone stray now, Thapa said that the Nepali Congress should be able to compete by bringing the lost UML to the right path.
"The position that the CPN-UML will take in national politics and the political direction it will take is of great importance to the Nepali Congress," he said.
Leader Thapa said that the ongoing closed session at the CPN-UML general convention in Chitwan is ‘Oli session’. He also accused the CPN-UML of ending democracy and starting KP Sharma Oli's monopoly.
“I was interested to know what the closed session was like. It was not a closed session, it was a kind of Oli session,” he said. “After Bhim Rawal was almost beaten up, police are now providing security to the hotel where Bhim Rawal is staying.”
