KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said his party would play a responsible and constructive role as an opposition party both in the federal and provincial parliaments.

Talking to media persons in Pokhara Monday, General Secretary Thapa informed that time had come for running the party in a legitimate manner to strengthen the party’s organization. While recalling that he had said the alliance for election was wrong, Thapa said, "We were, however, for reaching a conclusion in the coalition on pressing issues." 

General Secretary Thapa admitted that they were not included in the meeting with top leaders of the alliance and that the party’s general secretaries were in a position to learn about the party’s meeting through media. “This has made the campaign to restructure the party absolutely essential,” he said.
