NC, UML win 12 wards each in Makawanpur

HETAUDA, May 17: As the vote counting for 33 wards of the various local units of Makawanpur district reached the final stage, Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML have won in equal number of wards in various parts of the district.

HETAUDA, May 17: As the vote counting for 33 wards of the various local units of Makawanpur district reached the final stage, Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML have won in equal number of wards in various parts of the district. Both parties have secured 12 seats each for the post of ward chairman in different municipalities and rural municipalities in the district.


On Tuesday, two days after the Election Day, the Election Office has so far concluded the counting process in 33 wards only.

Likewise, the CPN (Maoist Center) has won 8 seats of ward chairman in different areas and Sadhuram Adhikari, an independent candidate, has won the seat of chairman of ward 9 of Manhari Rural Municipality of the district.


According to EC Officials, NC has won one ward in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City, two Bagmati Rural Municipality, two in Bakaiya Rural Municipality, two in Makawanpurgadhi Rural Municipality, one in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality, two in Raksirang Rural Municipality, one in Kailash Rural Municipality and one in Bhimfedi Rural Municipality.


Similarly, CPN-UML has won the three wards in Thaha Municipality, one in Bakaiya Rural Municipality, one in Makawanpurgadhi Rural Municipality, two in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality, two in Kailash Rural Municipality, one in Manhari Rural Municipality and two in Bhimfedi Rural Municipality. The Maoist Center has won one ward in Thaha Municipality, three in Bagmati Rural Municipality, two in Kailash Rural Municipality and two in Bakaiya Rural Municipality of the district.
