: Talks between ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (Unified Marxist-Leninist) that was convened in a bid to find an amicable solution on ending the longstanding deadlock in the parliament concluded Wednesday afternoon.

Keshav Badal, a member of the CPN-UML dialogue team, said that they agreed to find an amicable way out that would address the Maoist concern while ensuring that such a proposal would not undermine the dignity and respect of the president.

CPN-UML secretary Yuv Raj Gyawali headed six-member team. Prakash Man Singh and Bimalendra Nidhi from NC and Gyawali, Badal, Pradip Gyawali, Urmila Aryal and Parshuram Meghi Gurung from UML are other members involved in the bilateral talks.

They also decided to hold the three-party talks on Thursday after some rounds of bilateral talks.

The top three political parties have been holding several rounds of dialogues in a bid to end the House obstruction created by the main opposition U-CPN (Maoists) for what they call civilian supremacy.

The Maoist lawmakers have been continuously obstructing the parliament proceedings after the erstwhile Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is U-CPN (Maoist) Chairman, stepped down from the post following differences with President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, who reversed Dahal´s decision to sack the then army chief Rookmangud Katawal.
