KATHMANDU, July 17: Ahead of the fresh session of parliament, the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has summoned a meeting of its parliamentary party.
Talking to Republica over the phone, the party’s whip in the House of Representatives (HoR), Pushpa Bhusal said that the meeting of the parliamentary party will be held at the New Baneshwar-based Federal Parliament Building at 2 PM on Sunday.
NC objects to govt's decision to prorogue House session
This is the first meeting of the party’s parliamentary party after its parliamentary leader Sher Bahadur Deuba was appointed the prime minister on July 13 as per Article 76 (5) of the constitution.
Meanwhile, both the houses of parliament --- reinstated HoR and the National Assembly (NA) --- are scheduled to hold their fresh sessions starting at 4 PM on Sunday.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari summoned the House session on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
Earlier, passing its verdict on the House dissolution case on Monday, this week, the Supreme Court ordered the government to call the House session by Sunday.
