KATHMANDU, Sept 18: The ward convention of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) in Kathmandu is scheduled to be held on September 21. A meeting of the Kathmandu District Committee of the NC held on Friday decided to hold the ward convention in the district on September 21.
Sabuj Baniya, president of NC’s Kathmandu District Committee, said preparations are being made to hold the ward convention as the party’s Central Election Committee has concluded active membership distribution and sent the details to the district committee.
UML ward-level convention starts today
There are 10 electoral constituencies and 20 provincial electoral constituencies in the Kathmandu district. Also, there are 138 wards in Kathmandu including 11 local units in Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The NC has more than 30,000 active members in Kathmandu alone.
