BHAKTAPUR, Dec 1: Nepali Congress candidate Krishna Lal Bhadel has been elected as the provincial assembly member in Bhaktapur-1 (a).

During the by-elections held on Saturday, Bhadel garnered 13448 votes while his close rival DP Dhakal from the ruling Nepal Communist Party recieved 11197 votes. Similarly, another candidate Niraj Lawaju of Nepal Workers Peasants Party got 5829 votes.

In the past, the then CPN (UML) would win elections. The formal announcement of the elections results has yet to be made.
