NC registers urgent public importance notice

KATHMANDU, June 17: Nepali Congress has registered an urgent public importance notice at the parliament seeking government response to the efforts it has been taking to prevent coronavirus infection and its treatment as well as avoiding any serious crisis to public health in the country.

NC Chief Whip Bal Krishna Khand, whip Pushpa Bhusal and lawmaker Gagan Kumar Thapa on Wednesday registered the notice to draw attention of Minister for Health and Population, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal.

They have drawn attention of the health minister asking to revise criteria related to test, to accelerate test being carried out through PCR method, to make arrangement of quarantine in an effective manner, to expand contact tracing capacity, to make dedicated hospital more systematic for the treatment of coronavirus infected people and to make arrangement for easy and smooth treatment of patients suffering from different diseases.

Similarly, the NC also drew attention of the government regarding irregularities while procuring health supplies, rescuing stranded citizens from abroad, arrangement of quarantine, as well as Rs 10 billion expenditure details said to be spent for coronavirus related issues, and quarantine, test and counseling to Nepalis returning home from abroad.
