KATHMANDU, May 2: Nepali Congress has registered the candidacy for the post of Mayor and Deputy-Mayor in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).

Rajuraj Joshi registered for the post of the mayor and Hari Prabha Khadki registered for the post of  deputy-Mayor.

Earlier, a meeting of party's top leaders at the party central office in Sanepa decided to field Joshi and Khadki as the candidates for mayor and deputy-mayor respectively in KMC.

Joshi is a senior party leader in Kathmandu and he had served as district committee secretary when Prakashman Singh led the Kathmandu Congress. Raju Raj Joshi is brother of Minister for Industry Nabindra Raj Joshi.
