KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said that the person proposed by the NC must be made the new President of the country. During a conversation with journalists in Ilam today, he said that the person proposed by the Congress will be the new President.

Regarding who will be the presidential candidate from the NC, Sharma said that the name and decision of the potential candidate will be made public after  discussions in the party.

He said, “We have many qualified leaders. It is not appropriate for me to name any one of them now. Now we will have a meeting and discuss possible candidates.”

He said that because the NC is a party with a long political history, it will not be distracted by small obstacles.
