KATHMANDU, April 7: Paying a tribute to NC leader and former Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi who passed away recently, former Prime Minister and president of Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the party and the country has lost a capable leader.


Addressing a condolence assembly organized by NC Central Committee at the NC central office, Sanepa, on the 13th day of Joshi's passing on Wednesday, President Deuba mentioned that Joshi was a leader able to lead the party in the future.


“Joshi was a studious leader able to do lots of work in a short period. He had made a name for himself and the party by working in favour of the country and the people when he took the responsibility of minister for a short period,” Deuba added.

President Deuba further said that the NC has the historical responsibility upon its shoulders in the coming days, adding that institutionalizing democracy in the country would be a true tribute to leader Joshi.


Similarly, NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel argued that the country lost an energetic and promising leader in Joshi's demise. He said the lack of diligent, creative and honest leaders would be felt in the country and in the party in the coming days, adding that the demise of Joshi had caused an irreparable loss to the NC.


The NC has been organizing a condolence assembly in all 77 districts across the nation today commemorating the 13th day of Joshi’s demise, according to the NC central office.
