NC President Deuba forms 37-member Central Work Performance Committee

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: The ruling Nepali Congress(NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has formed a 37-member Central Work Performance Committee.

A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the party held virtually on Friday formed the Committee, endorsing the proposal made by President Sher Bahadur Deuba. 

All office-bearers including the president are ex-officio members of the committee. Vice Presidents duo Purna Bahadur Khadka and Dhan Raj Gurung, General Secretaries duo Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, Joint Secretaries Pharmullah Mansoor, Umakanta Chaudhary, Maha Laxmi Upadhyay Dina, Bhishma Raj Aangdambe, Mahendra Yadav, Kishor Rathour, Badri Pandey and Jiwan Pariyar are among those picked as Central Work Performance Committee members. President Deuba has not yet appointed the party's treasurer and the spokesperson. 

Deuba appears to have formed the Work Performance Committee by including mostly the leaders who supported him during the 14th General Convention. 

Senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel, Gopal Man Shrestha, Prakash Man Singh, Bimalendra Nidhi, Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Dr Shashank Koirala, Chitra Lekha Yadav, Ram Sharan Mahat, Arjun Narasingh KC, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Sunil Bahadur Thapa have been chosen as members of the Work Performance Committee.

Dr Shekhar Koirala, Bal Bahadur KC, Balkrishna Khand, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Uma Regmi, Ramesh Rijal, Narayan Khadka, Jipchhiring Lama, Sujata Koirala, NP Saud, Jiwan Bahadur Shahi and Aananda Dhungana are also among those chosen as members of the Work Performance Committee.

NC statute allows the President to form a 45-member Central Work Performance Committee. The party president can summon meetings of the Committee when it is not possible to call a Central Working Committee meeting.
