Bagmati Provincial Assembly session ends
Indra Bahadur Baniya, a provincial assembly member from NC, confirmed that his party obstructed the assembly session on Monday to protest against the unfulfilled promises of the provincial government and speaker. “The government promised to fix the permanent capital of the province long ago. However, the issue is yet to find a place in the business advisory of the assembly,” Baniya said.
The Minister for Internal Affairs and Law (MoIAL) of Province 3, Shalik Ram Jamkattel, however, accused the NC of causing unnecessary trouble. “The opposition's behaviors are against the parliamentary practice,” Jamkattel said, "This isn't only the opposition's responsibility. We also know what needs to be done. The capital city cannot be determined in this way.”
