KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Nepali Congress (NC) has said that it will not take any action against rebel candidates of the party if they decide to withdraw their candidacy against the ruling coalition candidates by October 17.
On Thursday, the party issued a statement and asked the rebel candidates to withdraw their candidatures. Earlier on Wednesday, the NC had announced that those who had submitted nominations as rebel candidates had been expelled from the party for five years.

Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel said that if the candidature is withdrawn until October 17, the action against such party members will be waived.
'If such rebel candidates who withdraw their candidacy within October 17, 2022 with a commitment to be fully active in making the official candidate of the party and the coalition secure the victory, then actions against the candidates and their proponents and supporters will be withdrawn by the party center according to the instructions of all those concerned with the necessary procedures,” said the statement.
