NC nominates 479 members in senior politician assembly

KATHMANDU, July 30: The Nepali Congress has nominated 479 old cadres and leaders of different districts to the senior politician assembly of the party.

Senior politicians including Taranath Ranabhat of Kaski to Homnath Dahal of Okhaldhunga are in the assembly. NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday nominated them, according to NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.

Senior politicians above 65 years of age and currently not assuming any responsibilities of the party are chosen as members of the assembly formed under chairmanship of the party’s central president.

The party statute also has a provision to form a senior politician committee under chairmanship of the respective province president in the province and district president in the respective district.
