NC Nawalpur district convention postponed

NAWALPUR, Nov 27: Nawalpur district convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) has been postponed due to the party’s lack of preparations for the event.

NAWALPUR, Nov 27: Nawalpur district convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) has been postponed due to the party’s lack of preparations for the event.


“The district convention scheduled for November 26 and 27 will now take place on December 5-6,” said Assistant District Election Officer, Chudamani Sharma Kandel. Kandel said that the nomination of candidates would be filed on December 5 and voting would take place on December 6 as per the new schedule.

The district convention has been postponed after the contestants for the post of regional president of constituency-2 of the district received equal votes in vote count and recounting could not take place.


Both Surya Gurung and Jagar Karki had received 394 votes. The district convention was postponed after a decision was taken at the consent of both candidates to take the decision through recount at 11:00 AM today.
