KATHMANDU, July 24: Nepali Congress central member Gagan Thapa has criticized the government for not being serious over the relief and rescue of the flood and landslides-hit victims.

Speaking at the federal parliament on Wednesday while participating in the proposal of public importance proposed by NC leader Minendra Rijal, leader Thapa said that the government could not reach the affected areas where the victims are desperate for the relief and rescue.

“Many parts of the country have been affected by the natural disaster. Even in the capital, many people are suffering from landslides in my constituency. Members of the parliament have presented the actual report of their respective constituencies. Our party president Sher Bahadur Deuba visited several districts of State 2 and drew the attention of the government. Nobody could find the actual presence of the government to help the victims who are in real need”, said Thapa.

He urged the government to put on effort to reach in all affected areas and vowed to stand with the government for the rescue and relief work.

He appealed to the government to find out the permanent solution to the problem of monsoon that triggers every year.
