KATHMANDU, June 7: Nepali Congress has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and properties caused by massive storm in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts last night.

In a press statement on Friday, the NC paid tribute to the departed souls while extending condolence to the bereaved family members and relatives.

The party urged the government to bear medical expenses for those injured and provide relief to the victims' families.  

The main opposition has put off its pre-scheduled awareness campaign in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts.

The party, in its statement, also urged party leaders and cadres to be mobilized in the rescue and relief operations in the storm-hit areas.  

At least two persons died while over 100 sustained injuries due to the storm in Kailali and Kanchanpur on Thursday night.
