KATHMANDU, July 13: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a meeting of the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the party on Wednesday to discuss the latest political developments after CPN (Maoist Centre) withdrew its support to the current government.
Leaders said the meeting underway at parliament building in New Baneshwor will focus on formation of a new government.
The meeting is expected to come with an official view of the party on the CPN (Maoist Center), a major coalition partner, abandoning its support to the KP Sharma Oli-led government.
NC Central Member Gopalman Shrestha told Republica Online that the meeting will decide on who will lead the new government.
“The meeting will arrive to a conclusion on leadership of the next government and role of the party,” he said.
CPN (Maoist Center) on Tuesday had withdrawn its support to the government after reaching a seven-point deal with NC. Both the parties have agreed to lead the government on a rotation basis.
