Citing that making it to a foreign country to pursue higher studies is a normal phenomenon, the NC underscored that is the responsibility of the governments from both the countries to ensure the security of students.

The NC demanded that the government draw the attention of the Indian government and rescue those students at the earliest.

“The Nepal Government should take it seriously if any Nepali student abroad has to face ill-treatment and attack of any sort,” the statement reads. The government has also been asked to take sincere initiatives regarding the security and dignity of Nepali students and remain vigilant so that such incidents do not take place in the days to follow.

It may be noted that dozens of Nepali students were attacked and thrashed in Dehradun on October 26, on the day of Bijaya Dashami.
