KATHMANDU, April 2: Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to support Janata Samajwadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav in the by-election being held in Bara-2.
NC Joint General Secretary Jeevan Pariyar said that the Central Work Performance Committee meeting held at the party office in Sanepa on Sunday decided to support JSP Chairman Yadav.
In the earlier meeting of the committee, there was a discussion about supporting Yadav. But when there was a dispute, the meeting did not make any decision.
The decision was taken unanimously at Sunday's meeting. By-elections will be held on April 23 for the three vacant seats.
Along with Bara, by-elections are also going to be held in Chitwan-2 and Tanahun-1.
NC has decided to field Central Working Committee (CWC) member Govinda Bhattarai in Tanahun and former District Committee President Jeet Narayan Shrestha in Chitwan.
