KATHMANDU, Aug 2: Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center) and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) have reached a three-point understanding on Tuesday.
In a three-party meeting held on Tuesday they reached an understanding to address the demands forwarded by the UDMF.
According to the deal, the Cabinet will declare martyrs killed during the Madhes movement, provide due compensation and free treatment to those injured and withdraw false cases leveled against UDMF cadres.

Likewise, the issues related to the number and delineation of provinces, the agreement says, will be resolved through the amendment to the constitution based the consensus of political parties while UDMF will vote Prime Ministerial candidate Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the prime minister’s election, UDMF leader and General Secretary of Rastriya Madhes Samajbadi Party Keshab Jha told Republic Online.
The parties agreed to ink the deal in writing following the nomination of Pushpa Kamal Dahal for the Prime Minister’s post, Jha added.
