KATHMANDU, Dec 12: The Nepali Congress (NC) has managed to collect over RS 30 million in donations to conduct its 14th General Convention, currently underway in the capital. “While we have managed to collect Rs 30 million so far, we have estimated over Rs 50 million to be collected in donations,” finance committee member Deepak Khadka informed Republica.

The party’s responsibility of managing the expenses of the General Convention has been handed over to its finance committee. According to a source, Umesh Shrestha, Deepak Khadka, Binod Chaudhary, Anil Rungata and Indra Baniya have donated Rs 2.5 million each.

Among the top donors of NC, Shrestha is the current Minister of State while Chaudhary is a parliament member. Likewise, Indra Baniya is the NC’s president for Bagmati Province.
