NC clinches Warekot chief while Shivalaya chief goes to UML

JAJARKOT, May 18:  Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Mahendra Bahadur Shaha has been elected as chief of Warekot Rural Municipality. He secured 2, 138 votes.  His closes rival Maoist Center’s Tilak Bahadur Rawat got 2,129 votes.

Similarly, Maoist Center candidate Uma Shahi has got 2, 224 votes to become deputy chief defeating her closest rival of CPN-UML Gita Singh.

As many as 6, 813 votes were cast out of 8, 351 votes in Warekot Rural Municipality.

Similarly, UML candidate Narendra Bahadur Shahi got 2,073 votes to become chief of Shivalaya Rural Municpality. His closest rival Khadka BC of Nepali Congress got 2, 063 votes.

Similarly, Kumari Thapa of UML has been elected deputy chief with 1,833 votes. Her closest rival  Gita Kumari Shahi of NC got 1,812 votes.

Of the total 7,130 votes, 5,453 votes were cast.

NC has won 25 ward chairpersons, UML 29 ward chairpersons while Maoist Center 23 ward chairpersons out of 77 wards in the district.
