NC clinches mayoral post in Beni Municipality

BABIYACHAUR (Myagdi), May 17: Nepali Congress (NC)'s Hari Kumar Shrestha has emerged victorious as the mayor with 5,679 votes under his belt at Beni Municipality in Mygadi district. 

Shrestha edged his closet contender CPN-UML's Pramod Shrestha who secured 5,634. 
Similarly, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)'s Sanju Baruwal secured 3,995 votes to become the Deputy Mayor at the same municipality. Her closet competitor Jyoti Lamichhane of CPN-Maoist Centre secured 3,961. 

Of the total 10 wards in the Municipality, CPN-UML's candidates emerged winners in the eight wards while NC and an independent contender got elected for the rest two wards, according to the Election Commission of Nepal. RSS
