According to the party preparations for the meeting will begin as soon as the election is concluded. The results of the election for the central members under the Khas Arya and indigenous clusters are yet to be made public.

Elections for 134 posts were held in the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress. Voting for the next four-year term of the NC Central Committee was held on December 13. It has taken more than a week for the final results of the election to come due to disagreement over the electronic voting process.

The party statute has a provision that 121 central members and 13 office-bearers will be elected by the general convention. In the 167-member Central Working Committee, the treasurer is nominated by the president from among the elected central members. Similarly, the power to nominate 33 central members has also been given to the party president.
