KATHMANDU, May 21: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Asaman Sangat has emerged victorious in ward No. 8 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).
Sangat defeated CPN-UML's candidate Umesh Kumar Kuinkel by 819 votes.
While Kuinkel received 768 votes, Sangat managed to garner 1,557 votes to win the local polls.
Similarly, Shekar Deula and Saloni Qadari were also elected to the post of ward members, while Sarswati Rajbanshi was elected ward member from the women cluster. Similarly, Raj Laxmi Bhsak was elected to the post of ward member from the dalit cluster.
The results of KMC wards 1, 2, 3, 45, 6, 8, 28, 29, 30 and 32 have been made public. The vote counting in wards 7, 9, 10, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 31 is currently underway.
