Naya Shakti coordinator Dr Bhattarai calls on PM

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Former Prime Minister and Naya Shakti coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai today called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter's official residence in Baluwatar. 

The duo are learnt to have discussed latest political situation, constitution implementation and local elections and ways to resolve the existing political problems. 

During the meeting, PM Dahal admitted that local elections are the first means to implement the constitution and the government was committed to it while requesting Dr Bhattarai's help in this regard, said the PM's Secretariat. 

In response, Dr Bhattarai said constitution amendment would be an appropriate way to hold local polls. Dr Bhattarai also drew the attention of PM Dahal to provide additional compensation to those who have been affected by Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project, said the secretariat. RSS
