KATHMANDU, March 20: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakashman Singh has said foreign assistance by any country would be acceptable provided that it is in the interest of the nation and its people.
In his address to a party program here today, the leader said the party was always against any aid that is against the welfare of the nation. The nation and its people should be the first priority while assessing the results of foreign aid, he stressed.
Stating that people and the nation are always the first priority for the NC, he urged party cadres to contribute to erasing doubts over the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement.
At the program organized as part of the party’s election publicity campaign targeting the upcoming local level elections slated for May 13, the leader urged one and all in the party line to work hard for ensuring the party’s landslide victory. He took time to call on aspiring election candidates to follow a legal course to make the party victorious in the polls.
