JANAKPUR, Aug 4: The Madhesh Province government today lowered the national flag to half-mast in mourning for the demise of classical musician, singer, and teacher Gurudev Kamat. He passed away last Thursday at the age of 69. 


Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh said the provincial government is deeply saddened by the passing of the veteran classical music guru. Earlier, the Madhesh government decided that the national flag would be flown at half-mast at all ministries today as a form of respect to the late Kamat.

Kamat had been battling kidney-related complications for long and passed away at his residence in Pokharbhinda of Patari Rural Municipality-2 in Siraha.
