National Climate Summit to kick off from Monday

SINDHUPALCHOWK, Dec 30: The National Climate Summit is all set to start at Jyamire Guphadanda of Melamchi Municipality-9 of the district from Monday. 

The summit is organized by the District Coordination Committee Federation with managerial support from the DCC. The slogan for the summit for this year is 'Clean Nepal, Healthy Nepali'. 

The two-day conference aims to provide awareness of the climate adaptation planning, said Krishna Gopal Tamang, coordinator of the main organizing committee. 

President Bidya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to inaugurate the summit amidst a special program on Monday. During the summit, the participants will present the working papers and the Sindhupalchowk declaration will be issued at the end of the summit, informed Tamang. 

Three government representatives each from all 77 districts including Chief District Officer and Assistant CDO have been invited for the conference, and its cost is estimated to be approximately Rs 10 million, he said.
