NAWALPUR, June 19: Continuous rainfall has completely blocked the Narayanghat-Butwal section of the East-West Highway since last night.
According to the Nawalpur District Police Office, the diversion over the Binayi River has been swept away by floods, and the road at Daunne has become slippery, making the highway impassable.
Motorists urged to use alternative route to Hetauda-Phakhel-Kat...

Police spokesperson DSP Madhu Nepal said that due to the lack of a proper bridge, vehicles were being diverted through the river, but the diversion was washed away by flooding. He added that mud and slippery conditions in areas like Bishwakarma Temple and Ghyukhola along the Dumkibas-Daunne stretch have made driving very difficult.
Until the situation improves, Nepal has urged travelers to use alternative routes.
Vehicles heading west from the east are advised to travel via Narayanghat, Muglin, Pokhara, Syangja, and Butwal. Similarly, those traveling westward from Kathmandu and eastward from western Nepal are also requested to take the Muglin–Pokhara–Syangja–Butwal route.
For smaller vehicles, DSP Nepal said they may use the Kaligandaki Corridor road via Gaindakot (Nawalpur) and Pipal Danda (Palpa) after confirming the road condition.
