CHITWAN, Aug 8: Narayangadh Football Club (NFC) made a winning start in the Nepal Cup Football Tournament beating Rupandehi XI 2-1 in the fourth edition of the event that kicked off Monday at Kyampa Chaur, Narayangadh. Goals from Suman Shrestha and Tejendra Chaudhary sealed the win for NFC.
Saroj Thapa scored a consolation for Rupandehi.
Suman Shrestha gave lead to NFC by converting a penalty in the fourth minute. Rupandehi equalized in the 46th minute with a goal from Saroj Thapa.
Tejendra Chaudhary scored in the 82th minute for NFC which was enough to kill the game.
Eleven teams including three departmental clubs are taking part in the tournament. Champions will be rewarded with Rs 300,000 and the runner-up will be handed 200,000.
