CHITWAN, July 23:  The Narayangadh-Mugling road section has been obstructed due to landslide since early Saturday morning.

According to Shiva Khanal, an engineer at Narayangadh-Mugling Road Construction Project, the transportation service has been affected after a landslide occurred at Topekhola, near Mugling at 5 am today.

Even though the task of removing debris has started, it is likely to take a long time to clear the road. If the work moved on as planned, the transportation service would resume at around 2 pm, engineer Khanal told Republica Online.

The Prithvi Highway, the only highway connecting the capital city with east and west Nepal, is often hit by landslides and traffic jams following the project to upgrade it two-lane.
