Nagarik Unmukti Party scores a hat-trick in Kailali with Chaudhary’s win in constituency No. 2

TIKAPUR, Nov 25: In Kailali, Nagarik Unmukti Party has scored a hat-trick of victory in the House of Representatives (HoR) . With the victory of Arun Chaudhary from Kailali-2, the party has won all three HoR seats in the district.

According to the final results, Chaudhary won by a huge margin. He received 21,871 votes. His closest competitor, CPN-UML's Jhapat Rawal, received 16,128 votes, while Maoist Center’s Bhagat Baduwal received 15,116 votes.

Chaudhary, who took the initial lead, fell to the third place. He got a single vote from Tharu majority area. In some wards of Bardagoriya Rural Municipality, he won a lot of votes. When 100 votes were counted in a polling station, he got 98 votes. He was able to jump to the first place from third due to overwhelming votes of the Tharu-majority area.

From the same party, Ranjita Shrestha has won in the area, and Ganga Ram Chaudhary has already won in constituency No. 3 of the district. Shrestha defeated Nepali Congress central member and former minister Ramjanam Chaudhary. Similarly, Chaudhary has defeated CPN-UML candidate former minister Gauri Shankar Tharu and assembly member Krishna Kumar Chaudhary.

The party has also won in five provincial constituencies. Kailash Choudhary from (A) and Laxman Kishore Choudhary from (B) of Constituency No. 1 have won. Similarly, Ghanshyam Chaudhary from 3 (A), Khushiram Dagaura Tharu from (B) Rameshwar Chaudhary from 2 (B) have won. In 2(A), Kamal Bahadur Shah of the Nepali Congress has won on behalf of the ruling alliance.
